Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Tournament Committee Donates $32,500 to SMGH Foundation 

The Strathroy Caradoc Cancer Golf Tournament (SCCGT) Committee presented Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) Foundation with a donation of $32,500.00 on July 6, 2016. 

“The SCCGT Committee have once again out-done themselves and organized an exceptional tournament,” said Susan McLean, SMGH Foundation CEO.  “The SMGH Foundation is so grateful for their tireless work, and generous donation in support of the SMGH Breast Assessment Program.”

The tournament took place on June 4th and consisted of two shotgun tee-times, lunch and putting contest at Bear Creek Golf & Country Club.  Over 200 golfers and supporters enjoyed a fabulous turkey dinner, silent auction, 50/50 draw and wheelbarrow of cheer raffle at the event reception which took place at The Strathroy Portuguese Canadian Club.

“On behalf of the SCCGT, we want to Thank everyone that was involved in this year`s Cancer Golf Tournament,” says Marlene Duister, SCCGT Committee Chair.  “It is because of the volunteers, our corporate sponsor (Meridian Lightweight Technologies), the golfers and everyone in between, that we again can donate this large amount to the SMGH Foundation.  We are proud to organize this tournament, knowing that the `Breast Assessment Program’ has become so important in our community.”
